Ever since the first lonely Jew ordered Chinese takeout on Christmas, there has been an undeniable bond between Jews and Asians. This Christmas Eve, we wipe away those lonely tears and celebrate our heritage as Jews and Asians.

In their first co-produced event, Veronica Chan and Jeff Orlick are bringing you Woks and Lox, the very first Jewish and Asian Christmas Experience.

Why Christmas?

Too many times have our late Decembers been spent in front of the television watching A Christmas Story while eating a bowl of pudding. We want to bring relief from the loneliness that so many Jews and Asians have felt on this particular night.

We’ll take the coals from our stockings and light ‘em up!

On Christmas Eve, we want to provide you with a warm, wondrous night celebrating our Asian and Jewish cultures.

Ron Hsu, listed as one of the top 30 under 30 by Zagat and currently sous chef at Le Bernardin, and Jonathan Forgash, executive chef to the stars of television and film at his company, Starstruck Catering, will prepare a night of dinner and noshes from their heritage and the combination thereof. The celebration will take place at The Queens Kickshaw in Astoria, Queens on Christmas Eve.

For those that cannot attend, we will provide you with a unique festive basket of Jewish and Asian gifts to spend your Christmas with, or a special holiday card from us. No more tears on this Christmas.

Help us Launch the Dragon

Come celebrate with us and buy a ticket through our IndieGoGo campaign. Tell your lonely friends what we are doing. Tweet us out on Twitter @woksandlox. Contribute to support the promotion of our combined heritages. If this becomes as popular as we hope, we’ll continue making awesome activities for our cultures in 2012.
